"The Eastman Kodak Co. announced Monday it’s retiring its most senior film because of declining customer demand in an increasingly digital age."

My Nikon D40X did a fantastic job with the photos. Definitely a great camera. I hope to take more artistic photos with it this fall, but in the meantime, here are the pics from Dragon*Con, including Joel, Trace, and Frank from Cinematic Titanic and MST3K, the guys from Emerald Rose, and several costumes. Oh, and some guy giving a Dalek rabbit ears.

The Washington Convention Center has all kinds of interesting art installations, so while [ profile] the_gneech and I were down there at CFUnited Wednesday through Friday this week, we took some interesting pictures of the interesting art installations. At least we think they're interesting. If you want to have a look:

I've had a negative scanner for a few years now. I've had in mind to scan my old negatives and slides ever since I bought it. Unfortunately, once I started scanning, I realized how much my negatives and slides had deteriorated. So, I went through and just scanned a select few. I'm just going to have to concentrate on getting good, fresh pictures with my digital SLR!

It was considerably colder than in past years because the blossoms bloomed early this year. We arrived just before 9 a.m. on Sunday morning and left by 11 a.m. As we were walking back to the car, the clouds had rolled in, so we timed it well.

I've made major progress in getting many of the photos I have in digital format up online. I could still spend some time punching some of them up and assigning tags, etc. But for anyone who want to see, here they are:

If you've looked at my pictures on LJ, you've seen some of these before, but I've added more to Picasaweb. It's much easier to use than LJ's photo system.

My brother forwarded me this link to a gallery of great photos from Fleetweek in SF. I particularly like the close-up showing distortion caused by the plane.

Konica-Minolta is no more. Another old school photography company bites the dust.
