In my effort to find a job that I would like more than my current one (and that would fit me better) I dragged out our copy of Do What You Are, which is all about personality type and characteristics of occupations that work better with certain personality types than others. Rereading the part about which personality type you are, I was struck with how accurate the description actually is for me, even down to the "these are the typical shortcomings of this personality type." I know a lot of people poo-poo the Meyers-Briggs test, but the description for INFP is accurate for me, even if it is a general description. Unlike astrological descriptions that are only one or two characteristics, the description in this book covers many aspects of personality. The book also says that INFPs make up 1% of the population. That could be one reason why I've always felt out of sync with most of the rest of society.
