Let's see if this can recover my HD long enough to gt the computer to boot again...

Ok, Spinrite isn't going to be able to recover my HD. Critical error it can't recover from. I think my HD is completely toasted.

Okay diagnostic tests show the HD has failed on my Dell XPS 420. It's about 3 years old. I can replace the HD, and have to figure out how to get the new one all set up. I have backups of data, fortunately.

Is it worth replacing the HD? I don't want to do this and then have some other component fail 2 months down the road.

Contagion is a very effective, realistic movie about one possible way an epidemic could happen. At the end of the movie, in the credits, there was a URL listed. So I grabbed my iPad and tried to call it up to see what it said.

The primary content is graphics of information that could have been presented as text, but because they're graphics, when I try to zoom in on them to be able to read them, they're so blurry it's impossible.

This is when web design matters.
