Worth replacing HD?
Jul. 1st, 2012 08:01 amOkay diagnostic tests show the HD has failed on my Dell XPS 420. It's about 3 years old. I can replace the HD, and have to figure out how to get the new one all set up. I have backups of data, fortunately.
Is it worth replacing the HD? I don't want to do this and then have some other component fail 2 months down the road.

Date: 2012-07-01 12:23 pm (UTC)My Windows Experience rating for the Intel SSD is 7.5, and the Samsung is 7.7. Note the rating tops out at 7.9. Both machines are SATA 2 interfaces,
The .2 rating delta will never be detectable by a person.
I go from cold boot to logged in and Doing Stuff in 30 seconds.
CYa!
