Security system
Sep. 23rd, 2004 10:44 amOur new building has a card security system to get into the parking garage, along with hang tags for each car. The card also allows you to use the elevators before and after business hours. It also allows you to get into the back doors, which you have to use before and after business hours. There are card-waving things on the stairwell doors on each floor where we are as well.
It is nice not to have to carry a key around, but I still need one to get into the server room if it's locked. The bottom line is, the card-waving things seem to be problematic, or at least the doors where the card-waving things are are problematic. Sometimes they work; sometimes they don't. Sometimes they set off alarms when they shouldn't. So, I currently see it as more trouble than a key without making me feel any more secure.
